The NIH Delegations of Authority Officer:

• Provides assistance and policy guidance to NIH functional and program managers in the research, development, review and issuance of all new and revised NIH delegations of authority.

• Maintains official files for all NIH delegations signed by the NIH Director or other senior NIH official and issued through NIH Manual 1130.

• Serves as focal point and liaison to higher level DHHS organizations in the coordination of management initiatives and activities, including the pursuit for new or unrestricted authorities for NIH officials and programs.
